Kayaking and canoeing on the river is not just for adults -- kids of all ages can enjoy the fun and excitement and may even choose an innertube for the ride! Photo Provided Avoid the heat of mid-day, as summertime flights start as early as 6:00 a.m. and evening flights leave as late as 5:30p.m. Weight Restrictions apply - zippers must be 70 lbs. minimum and 250 lbs. maximum to participate.
This fully-guided ecoadventure exposes visitors to the thrilling physical challenge of zip lining and includes a full geology course along the flowing stream and a wealth of history lessons at 8 historic preservation areas. There is truly nothing like it for over 300 miles!
"The adrenaline rush of the zip line adventure is truly fantastic," explains Adventures Unlimited owner Jack Sanborn. "But it doesn't stop there. We also voyage through history, and learn the geology of the river."
Guides can take groups as small as two, and as great as eight along the course.
Did you know that northwest Florida is your nation's premiere canoe destination? If it's too difficult to choose between canoeing and zipping, make a weekend of it, enjoying the leisurely fun of spending a weekend in a cabin, cottage or the Adventures Unlimited campground.
Coldwater Creek offers amazing natural beauty as it meanders past secluded, sugar white sandbars. Cedar, maple, and cypress trees often form a light, protective canopy over the river. There are also some high bluffs where pine and cedar trees tower above the paddler, or all around the daring zip line adventurer! The water is clear on the Coldwater, and along the bends, white sandbars provide a perfect place for camping, picnicking or just resting.
Canoeing or zipping at dawn or dusk, participants have the opportunity to observe wildlife including deer, turkey and bobcat. Birds are abundant in the summer, and their songs can be heard along with the brushing wings of dragonflies as they flit upon the water. Retreating to Adventures Unlimited will cool the body and refresh the soul.
Canoeing and kayaking the creek is one way to enjoy it, but it is truly unimaginable how stunning the river is from above - on a zipline flight. Adventures Unlimited is only a short drive from Mobile, Pensacola, Montgomery, Fort Walton Beach and Panama City. Prices range from $69 per person to $129.99 per person for the Zip Adventures.
Kayaking and canoeing on the river is not just for adults -- kids of all ages can enjoy the fun and excitement and may even choose an innertube for their mode of transportation down the Coldwater. Adventures Unlimited is a great place for parents to bring their children for a family friendly experience away from the television, video games and cell phones. Even if you and your family have very little or no experience, competent recreation staff is trained to give crash courses on the basics for canoeing. Whether it's to spend the weekend taking in the beauty and serenity of the outdoors that Adventures Unlimited has to offer, or to divide to conquer the more adventurous offerings, there is nothing but natural beauty and a whole lot of fun waiting for you at Adventures Unlimited!
