Natural Exploration: Begin the morning with a great local breakfast near our national seashore, then get started at the Gulf Breeze Zoo (open daily at 9 a.m.). You'll see everything from the famous giraffes to an African safari via train ride. After an open-air lunch at one of our great restaurants, visit the Panhandle Butterfly House (open seasonally; check for details). Over 200 species of butterflies are there to be seen—and expert guides are on hand to point them out.

Beaches By the Mile: Explore the beaches like you've never seen them before. Start off after breakfast at the Navarre Visitors Center, where the waters of Santa Rosa Sound are typically morning-calm. Then, spend the day exploring Gulf Islands National Seashore, where miles of beaches and trails allow you to see the nation's most pristine beaches of Florida. Wrap up the day on the new Navarre Beach Pier, a great place to take in the views, get a different perspective on the beach and catch some prize-worthy fish—or at least a prize-worthy sunset
