Itineraries

With mild temperatures on the beach and new shades of green in the forest, this is a great time to explore the subtleties of the beach and the rivers that continually rebuild it.

It's possible to take a spring break that's as short as a weekend or lasts all season. Start at the treetops with a zip-line canopy tour of Blackwater River State Forest and state park and, if you have time, keep exploring via kayak or canoe. We're known as the Canoe Capital of Florida, so you'll find routes to fill an afternoon or a week.

A little farther south, be sure to take in not only our beautiful beaches but Florida's longest fishing pier. The Navarre Beach Pier is a perfect setting to catch up with family, catch some great shots of the scenery and, best yet, catch some prize fish.

Then, no week (or even day) in spring is complete without a trip to the new Gulf Breeze Zoo. It's ideal weather to enjoy a safari train ride, and our rare and exotic animals enjoy the mild temperatures, too.
