Itineraries

You don’t have to go to New England to see fall color; from water’s edge to the forest ridge, you’ll see a full range of beautiful hues here.

Whether you have one day or a month, you’ll want to explore it all. Start off near historic Milton with tours of rare, unspoiled natural landscapes in the Blackwater River State Park and state forest. Depending on how much time you have available, you’ll want to enjoy this via stroll, hike or for a more full experience, via paddle and zip line tours.

Fall is also the locals’ favorite season on the beach, and with good reason. The clarity of light is photo-worthy, the temperatures are comfortable, and this is also the time of year to enjoy spotting spectacular winged migrations including hummingbirds and monarch butterflies. Be sure to take in fresh seasonal seafood and explore Gulf Islands National Seashore.

No matter how long you’re here, try to end each day with fall’s memorable sunsets. One favorite spot to enjoy that view is from the new Navarre Beach Pier—the longest in Florida and a great spot to take in the gulf and sunset for a full range of our fall color.
