Summer, Sand, and Sunshine
Welcome to paradise!
Cool off in the Water: While enjoying the summer sun during your Florida vacation, be sure to cool off in the water. From our beaches to our rivers, there's water sports abound. The Navarre Beach waters are emerald clear, and the sand is so clean and powdery white it literally squeaks under your toes. But there's more than the beach... Also known as the "Canoe Capital of Florida," Blackwater River State Forest offers paddlers guaranteed adventure on board a canoe, kayak or inner tube. The rivers in the Blackwater River State Forest are among the purest sand-bottom rivers in the world. Their tea-colored waters contrast with beautiful white sand bars that offer the perfect setting for soaking up the sun. Stop by the Visitor Center to get information about watersports rentals on the beach and river trips in the state park.
Free Family Fun: Now you can be in paradise without breaking the bank. Stop by the visitor center for information on activities that are low- or no-cost, including visiting museums in Historic Milton and Bagdad Village, playing in the Navarre Beach Park and Kids' Splash Pad or stopping by the Panhandle Butterfly House. Love Florida State Parks? Visit Blackwater State Forest and Blackwater State Park for miles of trails on both land and water.
